Service Paws, formerly known as Service Dog Support and Training Solutions, was founded as a nonprofit in January 2017.

Based in Layton, Utah, we are the leading organization in the region, offering top-tier virtual and in-person training classes for individuals with disabilities, veterans, and first responders.

Our mission is to enhance the lives of those with disabilities by empowering them to train their own service dogs, ensuring they have the tools for greater independence and access to a better quality of life.

In addition to service dog training, Service Paws partners with local rescues and shelters to identify dogs in need of a home and a purpose, believing strongly that rescue dogs can make exceptional service animals.

Our commitment to helping both individuals and dogs find meaningful connections drives everything we do.

Service Paws Mission Statement

At Service Paws, our mission revolves around the core values of Connection, Education, Support, and Independence — known as our 4 Paws.

These pillars guide everything we do to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and foster meaningful relationships between service dogs and their handlers.

Education
We are committed to raising awareness and educating our communities about disabilities and service dog work. Through education, we empower our clients with knowledge about their rights under the ADA law, ensuring they can confidently address access issues. We also provide training for businesses, helping them understand their responsibilities and rights under the ADA.

Connection
We work to create lasting connections between individuals with disabilities and those who understand and empathize with their experiences. By bridging the gap between the able-bodied and disabled communities, we promote a culture of understanding, communication, and inclusivity.

Support
Service Paws offers comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities throughout their journey. From finding and training service dogs to navigating their everyday needs and eventual retirement, we guide and empower clients every step of the way. Our commitment is to provide compassionate support as they experience the transformative benefits of a service dog.

Independence
Our ultimate goal is to restore independence to those who have lost it. By offering expert service dog training and fostering meaningful connections, we help individuals regain confidence and lead independent lives, both within their communities and at home.

Service Paws is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, veterans, and first responders, helping them live more independent, fulfilling lives with the help of expertly trained service dogs.
