Service Paws is a Utah-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities, veterans, and first responders gain greater independence through the assistance of highly trained service dogs. Founded in 2017, we specialize in owner-assisted service dog training using positive, humane training methods that strengthen the bond between handler and dog. By providing affordable training, education, support, and community resources, we empower our clients to successfully train and work alongside their service dogs. At Service Paws, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to experience the confidence, freedom, and connection that a well-trained service dog can provide. Through our commitment to compassion, education, and accessibility, we strive to change lives—one paw at a time.

The “Four Paws” that Service Paws is built on:

Connection

At Service Paws, we understand that the journey to obtaining and training a service dog can feel overwhelming, especially when facing financial, physical, or emotional challenges. That’s why we focus on creating meaningful connections between individuals in need, experienced trainers, community resources, and support networks. Whether someone is looking for guidance in selecting a suitable service dog candidate, training assistance, financial resources, or peer support from others on a similar journey, Service Paws works to connect them with the tools and people they need to succeed. We believe that no one should have to navigate the service dog process alone, and we are committed to building a supportive community where individuals can find encouragement, education, and lasting partnerships that help them achieve greater independence.

Education

At Service Paws, we are committed to educating the public about the disabled community and the vital role service dogs play in promoting independence and accessibility. Through community events, outreach programs, educational presentations, and social media, we work to increase awareness of disability rights, proper service dog etiquette, and the challenges individuals with disabilities may face in their daily lives. Our goal is to foster understanding, acceptance, and inclusion by helping the public recognize the important partnership between a service dog and its handler. By sharing accurate information and encouraging respectful interactions, Service Paws strives to create a more informed and supportive community for all.

Support

At Service Paws, supporting the disabled community is at the heart of everything we do. We provide affordable service dog training, educational resources, advocacy, and ongoing support to help individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence and confidence in their daily lives. Our programs are designed to remove barriers that often prevent access to service dogs and quality training, ensuring that those who can benefit from a service dog have the opportunity to succeed. Through personalized guidance, community connections, and a compassionate approach, Service Paws empowers individuals and their families with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to navigate life with greater freedom and dignity.

Independence

At Service Paws, we believe that a properly trained service dog can be life-changing for individuals with disabilities. A well-trained service dog provides more than assistance with daily tasks—it offers greater independence, confidence, safety, and freedom. By performing specific tasks that mitigate a person’s disability, service dogs help their handlers navigate everyday life with increased self-reliance and reduced dependence on others. Whether assisting with mobility, medical alerts, psychiatric support, or other disability-related needs, these highly trained partners empower individuals to participate more fully in their communities and live more independent, fulfilling lives. Service Paws is committed to making these life-changing partnerships accessible through education, training, and ongoing support.
