At Service Paws, support means more than simply helping someone train a service dog—it means walking alongside individuals with disabilities throughout their journey toward greater independence. We understand that living with a disability can present unique physical, emotional, financial, and social challenges, which is why we strive to provide a strong network of resources, guidance, and encouragement. Our team offers individualized training support, ongoing mentorship, problem-solving assistance, and access to group classes where handlers can build skills while connecting with others facing similar experiences. We help individuals navigate the service dog process, from selecting an appropriate canine candidate and understanding training requirements to preparing for public access and maintaining long-term success as a service dog team.
In addition to training support, Service Paws works to connect individuals with community resources, educational opportunities, advocacy information, and a supportive network of peers and volunteers. We provide a welcoming environment where individuals can ask questions, share experiences, celebrate achievements, and receive encouragement during difficult moments. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, we help reduce the isolation that many people with disabilities experience. Our goal is to ensure that every individual who comes to Service Paws feels supported, empowered, and equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence necessary to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
